surgeries oh my

As most of you may know, I just had my gallbladder taken out and I am SORE!!!!! It isn't a kind of pain where I am constantly on pain medicine it is more of a discomfort. It feels as if I was kicked in the ribs, I hope it goes away soon!!!

As for everyone else in the family, Regan is officially a 2nd grader now!! Where did the time go? Am I old enough to be a mom to a 2nd grader?? Bridgette will be in pre school in september and it will be harrison and I for a half-day 2 days a week.

So far this summer we haven't done anything to fun, we had to cancel a camping trip due to my surgery but am hoping to make it up somewhere. Both regan and bridgette are playing soccer starting in august and they can't wait. They want to play now. Ha ha

Well we have a few weeks before harrison has his surgery for his ears. We cant wait we are doing a countdown and doing everything in our power to prevent him from getting another ear infection. Poor little guy! His recovery is going to be much quicker than mine fortunatly. He will be back to normal within 12 hrs.

I guess that about covers it for now. Hope everyone is having a great summer so far!!!

Bridgette Jean!!!

Bridgette just turned 3 yesterday. Where does the time go???? Took her to the doctors today and she is 34 lbs and 37 inches tall. She is going to be tall!! The dr is concerned about her belly pain that she seems to have. I need to change her diet a little and then if that doesnt work then she will be tested to see what is going on and to rule out celiac disease. I am praying that the diet change will work, I do not want her to have to go through all of the testing that is involved with celiac disease.

Harrison is growing like a weed!!! He is climbing into everything!! Regan also is doing well, still loves school and hates when he has to miss it!

Sleep is....

OVERRATED!!!!! Boy do my kids know how to test me!! For about 2 weeks now, 1 or all 3 have been getting up numerous times!!! Last night was the WORST!!! Both boys were up at 3:30 a.m. wide awake and wanting to play! I finally caved and put them both in the living room and I fell asleep on the couch. Harrison crashed again around 5 but then was up again at 6. Regan never fell back to sleep and I am thinking that he was pretty miserable for his teachers today. It is an early bedtime night, especially since Bridgette only had a 10 min nap and was up late last night.

On another note, I cannot believe that Harrison will be 9 mos on the 24th and that Bridgette will be 3 in March!! My little ones are growing up so quick!!!

If you have any suggestions on the sleep thing, please let me know!! I am DESPERATE to try anything!!!

Wow!!

Wow time has really flown by!!! As you all may know, we have a new addition to our family. Harrison Joseph was born on May 24th. Regan and Bridgette just adore him! He loves Regan and tolerates Bridgette. He is 8 mos old already!! I can't believe it!!

Bridgette is almost 3 and boy does she know how to test our patience! I am hoping to put her in nursery school this fall. Sean doesn't want to but I think she is ready and very willing to go! It would only be 2 days a week for 2 hrs I believe. Other than that she is growing like crazy!!!

Regan is doing GREAT in school!!! He LOVES going everyday. We just got his report card and he has 90's or 100's in mostly everything! I hope he continues to enjoy school. He is also in boyscouts now and is enjoying that also. He is hoping to go to boy scout camp this summer.

Sean and I are doing well also. We are still house hunting and am not finding anything that we can either agree on or in the area that we want. It is very frustrating because right now all 3 kids are in 1 tiny room. I hope we have some luck soon!

Big Girl!!!

Where do I start? I will start with Bridgette. She has grown up so much in the last few months. She is very very stubborn! Here is a list of things she is doing now by herself without help:

Don't worry I fixed the carseat issue, she isn't very happy with me now, but oh well safety first! She had a great birthday. I was babysitting 2 of her buddies that day so she played all day long! Last weekend my mom and I took the kids to go see Sesame Street Live for Bridgette's birthday. They really enjoyed it except Bridgette got mad every time Big Bird or Cookie Monster left the stage. Other than that she is keeping us really busy!

Regan is doing pretty good. He was having issues with his reflux but that is now under control.

He is sick now with a sinus infection that is messing with his ashtma. He is having a hard time breathing at times, and last night he couldn't stop coughing. Poor kid, I hate when he gets like this, because there isn't anything I can do about it. Other than that he is doing well. Still loves school and can't wait to go. He is getting excited about the baby coming, he says that he can't wait til his "brother" gets here. ( we still don't know what we are having)

Sean and I are doing well. I am getting really uncomfortable and anxious. Sean is working crazy hours. The kids haven't seen him very much in the last 2 wks, but it will be worth it in the end. I will try and get some pictures up soon!

The kids went to the dentist yesterday. Regan had been there before and knew what to expect, but it was Bridgette's first time. When it was her turn, she hopped into the chair like she had been there before. She was hilarious!!! Sean said to me "Why did u need me again?" Regan was a little uneasy about everything but then again he had surgery on Thursday so he was a little scared I believe.

His surgery went really really well!! He ended up having an infection in his left ear when he was in there. As soon as he woke up from the surgery he was talking up a storm like he never fell asleep. As we were being discharged, the nurse who took care of him told him that for being a very nice patient that he could have a prize and brought back a new puzzle for him. He was so excited to bring it home so that he and daddy could put it together.

Regan is also becoming a very BIG boy. We went to the library yesterday and he filled out the paper and got his very OWN library card. He was so happy that he made me bring it to his class today( I worked in his class) so he could show his teacher and all of his friends. Other than that not to much is going on!

WOW!!

Wow I can't believe that it has been almost 6 mos since my last post. Sorry about that! Let's see where do I begin??? Regan is having surgery again to tubes placed in on January 28th. I'm kinda happy about it, because he has been having issues hearing again and I know it isn't selective hearing that his dad has. LOL In school he is doing excellent!!! He missed a week because Sean's grandma Douglas was really sick and then passed away, but when we came back he picked right up where he left off at school and had no problems adjusting! I was so happy to hear that!

Bridgette is growing like a weed! She is about 4 inches shorter than Regan and about 10 lbs less than him. He better start growing before she surpasses him!! She also is talking in full sentences now and you can actually carry on a converstaion with her. I'm not used to having a converstion with a almost 2 yr old considering Regan didn't even begin to talk til almost 3. Overall though she is such a joy even though there are times I could pull my hair out when she gets her attitude (that she gets from Sean, we all know I don't have one. LOL), or when she decides that when things don't go her way and she is throwing toys everywhere, I still thank god for her!!

Sean and I are doing well. Sean has been working like crazy to make up for the week that we were in Glens Falls with Grandma Douglas. Now our goal is to look for a house and a new vehicle before Baby #3 comes. I'm thinking the vehicle will come before the house, because we need it a little more.

Well thats about it for now. My New Years resolution is to try and post more things on here before 6 mos goes by again!

So Long!

Well it has been a very very busy summer for us, as most of you know. I was in 2 weddings this summer and now we have 2 more to go to in September. Bridgette has been growing like a weed. She is now 26 lbs 12oz and 32 inches long. She is so big compared to when she started out. She says about 20 words and is now starting to put 2 words together. Her favorite phrase is "mommy ow". I think she just likes to get kisses from me.

Regan is doing very good. He also grew about 2 inches this summer. He had his drop your supplies off day at school on Friday. He is so excited about school, but is a little nervous about riding the bus without me. ( Bridgette and I went on a ride with him on Friday) A lot of his friends have been able to meet with us at Darien Lake or the park so they could play together. It was very nice because Regan has been "bored" as he says.

Sean has been kinda slow at work which has been nice. He has been able to take a couple days off during the week to go with us to the county fair. Now he is backed up with side work so that we can have some money.

Well now you guys are updated, hope everyone is doing well!!

I'm so proud!!!

Well to start things off, on Friday the kids and I went and did a Cancer walk. They had a kids fun run and Regan decided to sign up. I didn't think that he would make it around the track ( it is 1 mile) but sure enough, he made it all the way around and came in 10th place out of 20. I am so proud of him. He was so excited because he got a medal and a new t-shirt.

Last Tuesday Bridgette woke up with a fever and it lasted until Thursday. I took her in on Thursday and the dr said that she has another double ear infection and 6 teeth coming in. Sean and I put 2 and 2 together and realized that she had had this ear infection since Memorial Day weekend. I felt terrible for her. She is still very MISERABLE, but who can blame her with that many teeth coming in, on top of a double ear infection.

This weekend is super busy for us. I am going shopping with the girls on Saturday and then I am taking the kids to a parade Saturday night. ON Sunday, I have my best friends bridal shower to attend.

Regan's last day of school is the 23rd. I can not believe how fast the year has gone by!! My little guy is going to be in kindergarten already! Where has the time gone?!

Regan update

I took Regan for his sleep study last night and he didn't last an hour. We explined how everything was going to happen and by the time they got the wires hooked up to his head, he was crying so much that he threw up all over the place. He even got his pajamas and when he found out that I didn't bring him any other ones he got even more upset and I was afraid that he was going to throw up again so I decided that I would bring him home and try again another night when we know exactly what to expect. With that said Regan is still sleeping in our room. I am hoping to clean the porch off this weekend and put his bed out there and see how he does.

Bridgette is doing very well. Every day she picks up a new word and is talking like crazy. Her favorite words to say are Hi, dog, brother, and cow. She loves to have her picture taken also. The minute she sees you get the camera out, her face scrunches up into the cutest smile. Hopefully, I can get some pictures up here soon!

Tubes again :(((((((

The kids went to the ENT dr today for their follow up app't. Bridgette's went very well. Regan on the other hand did not. Regan is going to be having tubes put in his ears again on May 28th. He also was put back on reflux medicine. The dr also believes that the reason he is having problems sleeping would be from the reflux. We will find out when we go to the sleep specialist on Wednsday. Hopefully we won't have to stay at the hospital overnight at all.

Some good news now is that Bridgette took about 6 steps yesterday. That made my Mothers Day so much better. I was sick all day yesterday with a migraine. Bridgette also has been walking a little bit today too, that is until she catches you watching her or Regan screams for me to look at her. It's to funny!

That's about all that is going on right now. I hope all you moms had a good Mother's Day!!!

Long Time

I just realized that I have not been on here in almost a month. So much has been going on. Bridgette's surgery went well. She was back to normal within 2 hrs of the surgery. Regan has been pretty bad lately. He has been very mouthy. Sean and I are working on that. Just when we figure him out, something else happens and we end up back where we started. Regan does have an appointment with a sleep specialist on May 13th. He has been having night terrors every night and he has been waking up around 10 or 11 p.m. and does not go back to sleep until about 3 a.m. Sean and I are pretty worried and concerned about that. I know that is why he is so terrible lately, I just don't know what else to do about it.

Other than that, not much else has been goin gon. Sean is swamped with work to do at his job and then he comes home and goes right to the shop to do side work that he has piled up to do. It stinks because the kids and I don't get to spend much time with him, but we need the money.

I hope everyone else is doing well!!!

Daddy's gone

Well Sean left for VA today. He is gone for 4 days. Regan is already starting the attitude and the mouth. I don't know what I am going to do. I hope that he straightens out soon. Regan starts Easter vacation on Wednsday and I hope he just gets better before he is home all day long.

Other than Regan being terrible, I am just getting a little nervous about Bridgette's surgery on Thursday. I know what to expect because I have been through it before, but it still isn't reassuring. I will post how it went on Thursday or Friday. My mom and I are going to end up taking Regan with us to the hospital. I can not find anyone who is willing to come over at 4:30 in the morning to stay with him. Thankfully my mom is going to be with me so that if he gets bored, they can go for walks.

Vacation

Well the kids and I are finally back from our vacation. I am so glad to be home, even thought I came home to an empty house. ( Sean was in Ballston Spa). Our vacation was pretty good. We left to go down there on Saturday around 1 p.m. and stopped in Virginia for the night around midnight. Then we left VA and got to N. Carolina around 2 p.m. With two kids and a dog we had to stop a lot. I noticed on Sunday that Bridgette wasn't herself and around 5 p.m. she had a 102 fever and pulling at her ears. I knew right away that she had another ear infection, even though she had just finished her other antibiotic Saturday morning. I got her through Sunday night and then I ended up taking her to an urgent care clinic and spent 6 hrs on Monday morning in there just so a doctor would give her an antibiotic. On Tueday my brother came home. it was really exciting seeing everyone waiting for their loved ones to come home. Regan didn't really understand what was going on and after about an hour of just standing around, he got really bored and was ready to go back to Nate's house. The rest of the week flew by after that. We went to Myrtle Beach one day and kind of just shopped around and lounged.

It was pretty relaxing except for the fact that Bridgette was sick and off schedule. By the time we left on Friday night, Bridgette was also sick with a croupy cough and sinus problems. I will probably call the dr tommorrow if her cough doesn't get any better by then. Stay tuned for the results from that!!

Going South!!!!!

Not much is going on here. I am trying to get everything packed for our trip down south. Regan is getting excited because he can't wait to see Uncle Nate and play in the "big sandbox". That's what he calls the beach. I almost wish we were flying down instead of driving. It would be less things that I need to pack. But then again, I don't want to be keeping track of 2kids in an airport. I am still trying to figure out what kind of toys or games I could play with Bridgette in the car. Regan will watch his movies so I am not concerned about him. Any ideas for Bridgette?????

Other than that, not much else is going on. Regan won a free lunch with his principal in the reading challenge in school. He is afraid that he won't get to have lunch with Mr. Stroud because we are going on vacation. I told him that Mr. Stroud would wait for him to get back.

I will try and post some more interesting things when we get back from our trip.

Bridgette's Stats

I took Bridgette to the doctors for her well child app't last night. She is now 23.13lbs and 28.25 inches long. She is still above average for both her height and weight. While the doctor was checking everything, he looked in her ears and said that she has yet another ear infection. I'm so glad they decided to do tubes now. Overall, the appointment went well until the nurse came in to do her shot and then they had to do the finger prick for lead testing and anemia. Needless to say, I left at that point and let Sean deal with the shot and finger prick. I know, I am a wimp but I have been dealing with shots for the past 12 months, it was his turn.

My baby is 1!!!!

Where does the time go? I can not believe that Bridgette turned 1 yesterday. She of course is sick again, so I don't think she enjoyed her birthday to well. I take her to the doctors today for her well child visit and I am anxious to see how much she weighs and how tall she is.

Regan looked sad yesterday morning and I asked him what was wrong and he said that he is sad becuase Bridgette is getting to big, he likes her small. I told him that I agreed with him but that I didn't like it when he was getting bigger either. He seemed okay with my answer.

When we dropped Regan off at school, his teacher made a point to walk over and tell Bridgette happy birthday. I thought that it was pretty neat considering that is a very busy time for her. She is always wrangling kids or talking to parents.

Long week

This has been a very long week.  Friday finally came and everything was going well until Sean came home from work early with ear pain and not being able to hear.  Then I was cleaning up dinner and I heard Sean yell at Regan for jumping on the couch, next thing I know Regan is screaming and has blood dripping down his forhead.  I ended up taking him to the ER and he ended up getting glued.  The cut was pretty deep but the Dr said that the glue would be better on him than stitches.

Other than that, not much else is going on.  I still have no computer and it is driving me nuts.  I am at my neighbors using theirs.  I am getting ready for Bridgette's first birthday party.  It is so sad.  I can not believe  how fast time flew by.  Bridgette is not walking yet, she has no interest in it.  Regan will get her whatever she wants or needs.  When Regan is in school she is a totally different baby.  Its neat to watch her play by herself and figure things out.

I think that is about it for now.  Hopefully  I will get my computer back before Bridgette's party so I can get some pictures up here!

The Verdict is....

Bridgette is going to be getting tubes in her ears on april 9th. Regan on the other hand is NOT getting tubes right now. The dr decided to wait and see if the fluid in his ears will clear on its own. Both kids are on a new diet for reflux. So now I have to go get more groceries after I just went shopping on Friday. Hopefully the diet will help Regan's ears so that he doesn't need surgery.

Other than that we aren't doing to much else this week. On Saturday the kids and I are going to see Sesame Street Live with my mom. Regan is looking forward to that. Bridgette even gets excited now when Elmo comes on t.v. She never really watches t.v. unless Elmo is on. That is the best 20 min I have during the day.
