Finally calm

After the very busy week, today was pretty calm. About 2p.m. Sean called me and informed me that he was going to the Buffalo Sabres game tonight with some guys from work. I was a little upset, but oh well, can't do much about it. I am now enjoying my quiet evening.

My birthday was yesterday and I guss it was an okay day. Nothing went right for me. regan was terrible and Bridgette was fussy because she has teeth coming through. Then Sean and I went to go out to dinner at one of my favorite places in Batavia and it was closed. We came home and Regan was still terrible. I ended up just going to bed and letting Sean deal with Regan.

Other than that, I hope everything calms down a little more. Maybe tommorrow will be better. I hope everyone has a safe and happy new year!

Happy Kids

We have had a busy couple days. On Christmas Eve my mom, and brother and his fiance came over to exchange gifts. We were very happy with what we got. Some of our favorites were my new camera and Regan got a new art center. On Christmas, Bridgette was wide awake at 5:45 so I took her out in the living room to play with some of her toys. Of course she went straight for the tree, so Sean and I decided to wake Regan up. I love the picture of her crawling away from the tree. She knew she was caught!

Hopefully today we will be heading to B-Spa, that is if Sean can get the blazer fixed in a decent time. If we can't leave by 1, then we probably are not going. We will see how it goes. I hope everyone had a good Christmas!!

Snow amounts

Yesterday school was closed again. I'm not surprised because we got about 10 inches of snow and other areas got more than that. Regan was upset about not having school. He was supposed to be Buddy Bear. He was over it as soon as he saw daddy outside plowing the driveway. Sean took the day off because he had to work on the Blazer once again. It took Sean 3 1/2 hours to plow our driveway and it isn't even that clean. People can at least get in and out though.

On Sunday we made a ham dinner and our neighbors came over for dinner. I gave Bridgette ham for the first time and she loved it. She screamed whenever her tray got empty. She was also happy to just play with the mashed potatos. Bridgette was so happy just being able to sit at the table like a big girl and eat big girl food. In the picture she is in the middle of screaming and her hair is sticking out like that because she put mashed potatos in it!.

I hate storms

I don't mind the snow but I hate the storms. On Friday we got 9inches in 6hrs. Not fun!! And Today we are supposed to get about 3 more inches, but then we are getting 5o mph winds. I guess the kids decided to play in the big box I got from Home and Garden. Regan wanted to go outside with daddy and play in the big snowpile that Sean made with his plow.

You can't really see his face to well because the snow is blowing into it. He had fun and that's all that mattered. I just hope that we don't get the huge storm that we are supposed to get on Christmas Eve. We are supposed to be driving to B-Spa on Christmas Day. I don't want to get stranded anywhere. I guess we will just wait and see what is going to happen.

When it rains, it pours

So last week I had all those problems with regan throwin tantrums everywhere. Saturday he woke up with a cold, on Sunday Bridgette woke up with one. Yesterday, Regan was upset because Grandma Irwin didn't have time to play with him after school because she had to work. He then started complaining that his ear hurt. I brushed it off thinking he wanted attention from Grandma. He didn't complain when I was in his class yesterday. Then last night he woke up screaming at 9 p.m. saying both his ears hurt really really bad. I looked at his right ear because the tube is still in that one.(the left one fell out about 3wks ago) His ear wasn't draining(a sure sign of infection) so I gave him some Motrin and he fell asleep and then he woke up screaming again at 5:30a.m. This time he had a fever, I gave him more motrin and he slept til about 7. When he got up the right ear was draining so bad I had to keep a cotton ball in it and it still leaked a little. I called the dr and we went at 10. Meanwhile, I am trying to hold him and catch Bridgette so I can get her dressed to get out the door.

At the dr's sure enough Regan has a double ear infection and he missed part of his field trip because of the dr's. I was able to get him to the pizza place in time to make his own pizza and eat with his friends. Before we went to the pizza place I took them to get his script filled and the whole time there all he did was scream that he was in pain. The whole store was looking at me and I felt like crying with him. As we were leaving some lady walked up to Regan and gave him a stuffed moose and told him to feel better soon. That made his day and of course he feels all better now and wants to go to school.

Moral of the story, if your kids tell you their ear hurts, take them to the dr's that day if possible. I am going to try and get some sleep tonight!

Regan update

Well since last week, Regan has been much better. I think that he just needed to get caught up on his sleep. Bridgette on the other hand has decided once again to wake up at midnight and stay awake until about 5 a.m. I wish that she would just pick on schedule and stay with it.

Regan has a field trip on Thursday. The class is going to a retirement facility and handing out Christmas cards and doing a little skit. Then they are going to a local pizza place to make their own pizza's. Regan is a little nervous about going on the bus by himself and going with another mom. He dosn't know any of the moms that are going on the trip. The only good thing is that they are going to Batavia which is only about 15 mins away.

This past weekend my brother, Verna and Kasey came over and helped Regan make Christmas cookies. I wanted to get pictures but of course I was trying to keep Bridgette away from everyone. Maybe we will make some again before Christmas.

What's going on with Regan???

Let's start with Friday. I took Regan to school and everythign was going well until Mrs. Jinks called him to get in line. He threw himself on me and Mrs. Jinks had to pull him off me and carry him to class. Then Monday night he did the same thing and Sean had to pry him off me and he also did it again on Tuesday at school. Mrs. Jinks again had to carry him to class. I have no idea what could be bothering him. It isn't the kids in his class because everyone plays together.

Look at this cute little face!! He looks so happy in this picture. Any ideas on what I could do?? I spent friday night and half of Sunday with just him. We went to Chuck-e-cheeses on Sunday for a b-day party and he was happy with that. I just don't know what else to do.

Dr's App't

Bridgette had her 9 mos well child check today. She now weighs 21 lbs and is 27 inches long. She is still above average for both height and weight. I can't believe how big she is getting. Now that she is on the move, I am hoping that she will slim down just a little bit. Regan also was at the dr's today. He had a nurse visit because he needed 3 shots. He was not happy and now is very whiny. He was fine in school but I think it is because he got to go "shopping" at Santa's Secret Shop.

This weekend Sean's brothers are coming out to go hunting. Lucky me getting stuck with 4 extra guys in my house. The testosterone is going to take over. Oh well, maybe I can go out with my brother Friday or Saturday night and leave the kids home with them!!

Black Friday

Our Thanksgiving was pretty good this year. It was pretty busy. I tried to get a good family picture for the x-mas cards, but of course nether child was looking at the camera, so I don't know what I am going to do yet.

I went shopping on Black Friday with my mom and Bridgette. She of course was up at 4:00 a.m. She did pretty good shopping. I figured she wouldn't tell Regan what I got him for Christmas. I ended up getting my kids done and a start on my family. I figure I may only have to take one trip to the mall to finish my shopping. I am really happy about that, because that mean only one trip up there with the kids instead of 2 or 3.

Now I need to get rested up for this week. Regan has a dr's app't on Monday with the ENT and then on Wednsday I am working at the school from 9 til 3 with Santa's Secret Shop, then Thursday both kids have a well child app't. Bridgette gets one shot and Regan is supposed to get 4. Wish me luck with that one! Thankfully my mother is going with me to help with the shots. I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving!!!

Daddys away=Crazy mama

Sean decided to take a hunting trip. He left Friday and will not return until Tuesday night. I am going crazy! Bridgette has been really fussy and of course Regan is taking the opportunity to be terrible also, because he knows that I will deal with Bridgette first.

I talked my brother and his fiance into going Christmas shopping and then we went to Canada to see the Festival of Lights. Although the border patrol almost wouldn't let me cross with the kids because I didn't have a written letter with a phone number from Sean stating that it was okay to take the kids across the border. Regan loved seeing all of the different Disney characters. He was just frustrated that we didn't get out and walk. It was in a big park that you just drove around, but it was to cold for Bridgette to be out in it.

Thankfully Regan has school tommorrow and Tuesday so hopefully the next couple days will be better.

An Apple a Day...

Keeps the doctor away. I wish that was true. Apparently Bridgette believes it just look at the picture. She crawled over to the basket and was screaming until Regan gave her a apple. She now has the same cold as Regan only Regan's asthma is now acting up,he sounds like he is constantly clearing his throat. The only good thing about this I guess is that we don't have many plans this weekend. Sean is going to be gone from Friday until Tuesday hunting. Hopefully the kids will do alright with out their daddy.

Regan has been terrible lately. He has been hitting and biting people (mostly adults). We figured out that it is mostly whenever someone is busy with Bridgette. I know that he is just craving attention but I don't know what to do. I am usually busy with Bridgette or house work adn then when I do play with him, he gets rough and screams at me for not playing "his" way. Any ideas out there on what I could do????

Look out everyone...

Bridgette is on the move. Regan is not happy about it at all. We told him that he needs to take better care of his toys now. He does not like to share his toys and if he leaves them out, Bridgette will find a way to get them. Sean let me go back to bed yesterday morning and then woke me up to tell me that Bridgette has decided to crawl for him. It took her a good hour before she would show me.

It's all over now. She has offically crawled and is pulling herself up, next thing you know she will be walking and I am not ready for that. Regan will be in for a big surprise once she starts that. I will try and get a picture of her later to put up here.

This past weekend was pretty crummy. Bridgette was throwing up on Thursday and was better Friday but then Regan had a note sent home that someone in his class has lice. Saturday was an okay day and then Sunday Regan woke up with a cold and Bridgette had a runny nose. We just can not win. If it's not one it's the other. Oh well, Regan only has school Monday, Tuesday and Friday, so I will see if I can get him to rest at all.

42 days til x-mas

I realized yesterday that Christmas is only 42 days away, which seems like a long time. I then realized that I only have 2 weekends to get all of my shopping done. I don't know how I am going to get it all done especially since Sean doesn't do any of it and this is his busy time so I have to take the kids with me. How is Santa supposed to get toys if Regan is with me? I guess I will just have to take my brother with me so that he can occupy him while I shop. I am really missing shopping weekend this year. This time last year, I had all of Regan's shopping done.

My other dilemma is that I have no idea what to get either of my kids. Everythign Regan wanted he got for his birthday. He doesn't really need anything either. Bridgette is just at a tough age. She needs clothes but she needs them now, so I am buying those now. She doesn't really need any toys.

I guess I better stop talking about it and start shopping. Wish me luck!!!

Time Change

I HATE the time change. Both of mu kids have been getting up between 5 and 6. They normally sleep til about 7:30 ish. They are both going to bed around 6 now instead of 7. I try and keep them up so that they will sleep a little longer, but they are so miserable, I can't wait to put them to bed. Oh well, hopefully everthing will work out soon. Sean is going to have quite a problem tonight putting them down by himself. I start a new aerobics class tonight and he is going to be putting them to bed every monday and thursday for the next 10 weeks. He will finally get a dose of what I deal with every night. Can't wait to see how it goes. Anyone else having problems with the time change?????

Halloween

Regan woke up yesterday morning at 5 a.m and was singing It's my birthday continuosly for about 3 hrs straight. We then went to playgroup for their halloween/Regan b-day party. While we were there he was playing with a truck and it got stuck on the rug and he went flying forward and recieved rug burn on his forhead. It looks great with the huge bump from the car door last week. He then went to school were Daddy surprised him by coming to his class party. From there we went to my grandmother and my dads. He was completly miserable, I'm sure it had something to do with getting up at 5am.

After all of that running around, we went to our friends Pete and Jill's house and on the way there both kids decided to take a nap. I woke Regan up after an hour, we ate pizza and then went trick or treating. Regan did okay until the big kids and I mean Sean and the boys started silly stringing each other.

Overall it was a pretty good day for Regan. Hope everyone elses was uneventful!

Regan party

This past Saturday was Regan's birthday party. The day started out pretty rough. BRidgette woke everyone up at 6 a.m. Then I took the kids with me to the store and as Regan was walking up to the sidewalk he walked into the car door and had a huge bump on his head. He then complained of a headache all day. Nurse Wanda (my mom) looked at it and said that it would be a little sore, but that he would be okay! He was better after everyone started showing up with presents.

Bridgette was okay for the party. She was pretty miserable but I think the fact of when she went down for a nap there were only a few people here and when she woke up the house was packed with people she doesn't see very often, so she was very clingy to my brother. ( the only one that wasn't occupied with something)

Other than that not to much is going on. Regan has a pumpkin party on Thursday at school and then on Friday, I am bringing cookies to his class for his birthday. I can't believe he is going to be 4 already! so sad!

New camera

This year for x-mas I have decided that I want a new camera. My mom asked me what kind I wanted and I have no idea. Anyone have any idea on what kind I should get or what to look for when I am looking?

Both kids are still pretty sick, Regan is getting better, Bridgette still sounds yucky. I hope they are better by Saturday for Regan's party. Regan can't wait for all of his cousins to come and play at his house for once.

It's just the beginning

The kids and I have been to the dr's 3 times in a week. It started out with Bridgette and a cough, then Bridgette with wheezing, and then finally we went again yesterday for both of them. The final diagnosis, Bridgette has bronchitus and Regan's asthma is acting up. Both kids need to have nebulizer treatments now and we need to have the cool mist humidifier on from now until spring. This is only the beginning of cold and flu season.

This time of year is also my favorite time, it is cool enough to go out for walks and you don't sweat like crazy, I also am in the mood to start x-mas shopping although I should probly wait for Regan's party to see what he gets.

I am upset that I won't be going to shopping weekend this year. I really look forward to it every year and now I have nothing to look forward to. I guess I will have to try and make my own shopping weekend without kids.

Field trip

Regan and I went on his class field trip yesterday. It wasn't that bad. All of the BAD kids (as Regan calls them) were either with a teacher or their mother. It was a very short trip which was also very nice. We were split into 2 groups. One group went on the wagon ride and picked apples and the other looked around the store and asked questions. After that we went to the county park and had lunch and let the kids run around on the playground. Overall, it was a good experience and I guess I would be a parent helper again.

Bridgette has got a nasty cough. She doesn't have any other symtoms, except yesterday she was coughing stuff up so I took her to the dr's. The dr suggest I put her back on the Nutramigen formula for a couple days to see if it is the formula, but she also gave me stuff for Regan's nebulizer to give her treatments. so we will see. Bridgette also was weighed and now weighs 18.7lbs. She gained 3lbs in 4 wks. she made us worry for nothing. What a little stinker!

Busy Busy

Well I also just realized that we have something going on every weekend until at least Thanksgiving and probly even after that to. Starting tonight, I have to go get fitted for a dress for one of the wedding's that I am in this summer. Then on Saturday I have a b-day party, next Saturday another b-day party and then my brother's playoff football game. The 18th I believe Janice and Mike come out, the 25th is Regan's party and then his b-day. What a crazy month!!!!!

On another note, on Monday I will be a parent helper for Regan's field trip to the apple farm. I don't know what I was thinking signing up to be a helper. I will make sure to have lots and lots of Ibuprofen. lol

Bridgette is doing well, growing like a weed. She keeps growing out of her clothes. Everytime I buy her a new outfit in the next size up, she wears it once and then I have to put it in the to small pile. Very frustrating. Very happy that she is finally where she should be for her age, but also frustrating. Oh well, I guess I should be happy where she is.

Stubborn Children

So I decided to brave the elements and take the kids apple picking by myself on Saturday before my brothers football game. My 2 sister-in-laws decided at the last minute to come also. Verna took Regan and Kasey and I took Bridgette. I don't know who had the worse time, because both of my kids are very stubborn. Verna tried to get regan to just pick apples, but they didn't look good to him, so we were there for about 2 hrs because he wasn't happy with the apples that Verna was showing him. Kasey was holding Bridgette and picked an apple to put in the bag and Bridgette grabbed it and had a death grip on it. We tried to take it away and she screamed. She even had to hold it on the tractor ride. I hope she enjoys apples that much when she gets older.

Yesterday Sean and I took the kids with my dad to Nunda, NY to the place where my grandfather was born. We took a walk in the woods. It was nice except for the fact that Bridgette gets really heavy in the front carrier. Sean decided to take Bridgette because he thought that I could keep up faster that way. But then of course regan decided that he was to tired to walk, so Sean had both kids. I wish I would've had my camera for a picture.

So this weekend is also going to be very busy. We are going to B-Spa and Whitehall for a b-day party for Sean's grandma. I am hoping that Sean will take a half day on friday so that we can leave as soon as we pick Regan up from school. Sean doesn't like to take time off so we will see how this weekend works out!

Another ear infection

Well last night was a very rough night. Bridgette was up from about 6p.m. til about 5 a.m. this morning. I only got about an hour of sleep. She has had a cold and would sleep for about 10 mins and then scream like someone was hurting her. I told Sean at about 11 that she had another ear infection and he didn;t believe me. Sure enough when I took her to the dr's this morning she has another infection in the right ear. regan always got infections in his left ear and now she gets them in her right. This is her 4th infection in 3 months. Instead of putting tubes in her ears they put her on a small antibiotic for the winter. It is a very very low dose and hopefully she won't get another infection. If she does, then she will definatly need tubes. Let's hope for the best!!

On the other hand, Regan is enjoying school and will be going on his first field trip on October 6th. His teacher is taking both the afternoon and morning class. I hope she takes a lot of Tylenol before she goes. lol I guess thats it for now. Wish me luck tonight with getting some sleep!!!!

Teething 4 yr old????

Okay so yesterday Regan spent the entire day with daddy. They went and got parts for a machine that Sean is fixing and then they went on a long hike in the woods, which regan walked the entire time. I thought everythingwas going good until about 11:30 last night. Regan woke up screaming that his teeth hurt. So I gave him some Ibuprofen and then he screamed that his legs hurt. I have no idea what is going on with him. He woke up all refreshed today like nothing even happened last night.

Bridgette on the other hand was also up most of the night with her daddy during the 70mph winds we had going on last night. The wind was so loud that neither one of them could sleep and Sean wanted to talk all night. I was so mad, I just wanted to sleep. Hopefully tonight will be a better night for everyone.

Mother Nature

Okay so I hate how mother nature has decided to make it cool all week and now has decided to be really muggy and humid. How am I supposed to get out cool clothes out when I just have to put them away again inone day. Sean is mad because I have clothes everywhere, but what am I supposed to do?

Anyways, the kids are doing great. Regan decided to get up at 4:30 this morning when Bridgette did, which was fine EXCEPT when Bridgette went right back to bed, Regan was WIDE awake complaining that none of him shows were on. Needless to say he was back in bed around 9 a.m. and I left for church with Bridgette. He seems happy now, but I think that its because he is now spending the day with daddy!

I think that is all I need to vent about right now. Here is the latest picture of the kids I just took the other day. Bridgette was giving regan hugs and everytime he would pull away, she would grab his shirt and pull him in again. It was to cute!

Stupid Weather!

So I really hate this time of year when it is warm one day and cold the next. Regan and Bridgette are both sick, Bridgette was up all night because she couldn't breathe. I love being able to wear a t-shirt and jeans outside and being comfortable, but hate having to deal with sick kids. I feel so bad for them because I can;t really do anything for them. Regan doesn't want to go to school today but I hate to have him miss a day of school within the first full week.

On another note. Regan keeps asking me when Daddy's birthday is because he knows that his isn't to far behind it. He really wants to have his family and friends over to have a "huge" party according to him. I just hope that his aunts and uncles can make it out for his party.

Bridgette is still growing like a weed. The last couple days for dinner she ate a whole jar of baby food. I guess she is making up for the 4 mos that she was 9lbs. Sorry I don't have any recent photos up yet, I am working on taking some more.

Regan and School

Well not to much is going on here lately. Regan is adjusting well to school, and I am very happy about that. Bridgette gets so excited when we go and pick him up. SHe starts to squeal the minute we walk into the school. It is so funny to see. Yesterday we came home from school and Regan played with Bridgette and then fell asleep on the floor while playing with her. I should've taken a picture of it. Yesterday Regan was the leader Bear in his class. That meant that he was leader in line and also Mrs. Jinks helper. It was fun he said. Today he had to bring in a teddy bear for teddy bear day. The teddy bears get to do everything the kids do. REgan had to put a diaper and clothes on his bear because it is cold out today. I am sure his teacher thinks it is funny, but it makes him happy.

Bridgette on the other hand is getting so strong. She will sit up by herself for about 10 mins before she realizes that she is doing it herself and decides to fall down. She loves to eat her vegetables. The last couple days she ate an entire jar of baby food. I couldn't believe it. She also enjoys her baby crackers that I found at Walmart. When we eat dinner it makes her feel like a big girl because she is eating next to Regan.

Well I am going to go enjoy my child-free evening. I had 2 teeth pulled today and my mom decided to keep the kids overnight for me. Thank you Mom!!!! Maybe I can finally catch up on my sleep that the kids keep depriving me of!

Hip Hip Hooray, My baby gained some weight!!!

First off I just want to say that I took Bridgette to the dr's today and she is now ABOVE Average for her WEIGHT!!! She is in the 66th percentile for weight. I was looking at Regan's records and he only weighed 14 lbs at this time. She is 16lbs 9oz. Needless to say, Bridgette gained about 6lbs in a month. The dr was very impressed and told us that we could start weaning her off of the nast nutramigen. I was very excited to hear that because that stuff stains our clothes and it stinks!

OKay to the good part now. Regan's first day of school was yesterday and he came home in tears because they don't have anywhere for him to lay down and take naps. I guess if that is least of my worries we are doing good. I forgot the camera yesterday, so I took this picture today of him. He was not happy to be leaving because my mom was here with him while I took Bridgette to the dr's and he didn';t want grandma to play with Bridgette without him. As we were walking out the door he said "Grandma don't play with Bridgette until I get back" He was not happy when he came home and grandma had gone to work without saying goodby to him.

End of summer

So now that summer is officially over, it is sad. This whole summer flew by, before you know it, Christmas is going to be here and then Bridgette's 1st b-day. I can;t believe it. This year has flown by completly.

Okay enough of that stuff. Regan starts school tommorrow so I will leave another blog tommorrow on how well that went. I haven't been able to get anyone to watch Bridgette while I drop him off like i wanted to, but Oh well, that is the least of my worry's. Regan is doing much better with number 2 on the potty. All last week he went in 5 different public places.

Last week we spent the whole week in Whitehall and the kids were ready togo by Thursday, but Sean insisted that we stay til Sunday. He paid for it yesterday because Regan was miserable and Bridgette was really fussy. It doesn't help that her first tooth is coming in already.

Other than that not much else is going on. Hope everyone enjoys this, not that you want to read about how Regan is doing with his potty training.

Update on kids

So lets see where did I leave off? well on August 1st I braved the elements and took the kids to my in-laws for a birthday party for Ryan. That was a fun trip. Both kids were pretty miserable. But it paid off on the trip home, they both slept a huge portion of the 4 hr drive.

Bridgette is doing really well. she finally doubled her birth weight. She also has a double ear infection right now and I am not surprised considering Regan and Sean have had a nasty cold and she caught it.

Regan is also doing really well. He is finally going number 2 on the potty. He is getting anxious about school to. He tells me that he doesn't want to meet new friends, he just wants to stay home with Bridgette.

Update on the kids

So I decided to take Beth's idea and start posting a blog about the kids instead of e-mailing constantly. I will try and update every few weeks, but bear with me. I also still have to figure out how to post pictures on here. Anyways, enough about this.

Regan is doing really well with the whole potty training. He still refuses to go number 2 on the potty unless he really has to. He will usually hold it in until night time when he has a diaper on. I don;t understand that but I guess that is what he likes.

Bridgette is also doing really well. She is finally getting closer to where she should be for weight wise. She gained 10 oz in 4 days so I would say that is pretty good. She is now eating oatmeal and the docotr gave the okay to start baby food, but I think I may wait until she turns 5 mos old which is only about a week away.
